Delia Beers is the founder and creator of AcuShén stress therapy. Delia is both a licensed acupuncturist and Chinese medicine herbalist. She is also an acute care registered nurse with 12 years of experience in perioperative services. Delia holds dual masters’ degrees in Traditional Asian Medicine and Spiritual Psychology. She ran a successful spiritual counseling and life-coaching practice in West Los Angeles for many years before relocating to the North Bay. Delia has also been a personal practitioner of Eastern philosophy and meditation for over two decades and brings the wisdom of that practice to her heartfelt guided meditations and acupuncture practice.
Stephanie Carver was born and raised in the Central Valley of California and has been a registered nurse with over 20 years of experience in the hospital setting specializing in pain management and integrative approaches to nursing care. Stephanie is passionate about sharing the benefits of natural modalities and has taught hundreds of nurses and physicians how to integrate the effective benefits of essential oils into their practice. She is married to her husband of 30 years, Kevin, has three children, and three beautiful granddaughters.
Ronald Malit has been a registered nurse for 23 years. For the past 22 years, he has practiced in the Perioperative Department. Currently he is the evening shift PACU charge nurse at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital. He earned his Diploma in nursing from St. Francis School of Nursing in New Jersey and his Bachelor of Nursing Degree from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. He has also been dually certified as a Certified Ambulatory PeriAnesthesia Nurse (CAPA) and Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) since 2015. Ron has been a recipient of the Houston Methodist Hospital Nurse Innovation Award, Houston’s Top 150 Nurses Award Nominee by the Houston Chronicle, and Houston’s Good Samaritan Foundation Gold Medalist.
Paschale Dorimond-Parks has been in nursing for 19 years. Her background includes both critical care and PACU. Currently, she is the day shift PACU charge nurse at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital. She has been a certified post anesthesia nurse (CPAN) since 2014. Together with Ronald Malit, an evidence-based practice project was piloted in the recovery room at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital. Based on their research results, aromatherapy is now used throughout the Houston Methodist Hospital System. Their project and remarkable results have been shared with their colleagues at multiple conferences throughout the United States and even abroad.
Kate Phelan has been practicing massage therapy for over 25 years. She earned certification in hospital-based massage in 2011 through the Integrative Medicine Education Program at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. She has worked in Sutter Hospitals, Hospice by the Bay’s pediatric service, and launched a program at UCSF Children’s Hospital in Oakland in 2017. She is presently employed at Marin General Hospital and serves on the Integrated Pediatric Pain Management (IP3) team at UCSF Mission Bay. She is passionate about bringing touch to the bedside and feels privileged to work with medically-complex patients and dedicated staff in acute care settings.
Seth-Deborah Roth is a clinical hypnotherapist, a Certified Hypnosis Instructor, and a Fellow with the National Board of Certified Clinical Hypnotherapists. She has presented at the National Guild of Hypnotists, the International Hypnosis Federation, the American Board of Hypnosis, as well as at the Institute of Advanced Studies in Health, and the Dermatology Nurses Association, among others. Seth-Deborah was a recipient of the 2005 Award of Excellence in the field of Health from the International Hypnosis Federation, and was inducted into the “Order of Braid” with the National Guild of Hypnotists in 2011, which recognizes a lifetime of outstanding achievement, dedication and service. She was included in the 2012 top 100 Nurse Practitioner Round-Up, and received one of the highest awards within the National Guild of Hypnotists, the “Charles Tebbetts Award”- Spreading the Light of Hypnotism.
Zahara Sundermeyer graduated from the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2012 where she obtained her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine focusing on nutrition, endocrinology, gastroenterology and women’s medicine. After graduation, she accepted an internship to assist individuals of low income or without insurance who were in need of medicine or wellness care. Dr.Sundermeyer specializes in bioidentical hormone replacement (BHRT) for men and women. She also supports individuals diagnosed with chronic diseases and those dealing with digestive concerns. Dr. Sundermeyer is beginning advanced training in integrative infertility care for young women who are experiencing issues conceiving.
Gayle Swift is an Integrative Healing Arts (IHA) specialist and the author of the “32 Keys”, “Awakening to Soul” and “The Soul Cards”. She is a consultant to hospitals and the founder of the IHA way: ‘Healing the Heart of Health Care’. The program is person-centric, cultivating healthy relationships through the care of self, colleagues and the patients we serve. Her consulting work takes her from the C-suite to support strategic planning, lean systems, and facilitating change to the Point of Care where clinical staff learn ways to provide care with joy, resilience and compassion. She believes nurses can be the change that health care is seeking; she teaches people to work together in collaboration with creative and innovative thinking to cultivate a shared vision for health, disease prevention, vitality and well-being, and not just better ways to deliver disease care.
Kevin Wallace started his work in the health care industry over 20 years ago, graduating from California State University Stanislaus in Kinesiology in 1998. From there he worked in the physical therapy industry and proceeded to gain certifications in Myofascial Release, Postural evaluation and the Egoscue Method. He realized there was something more and knew he needed to return to school for his doctorate. He chose Naturopathic Medicine for its wide array of therapeutic modalities. Dr. Wallace graduated from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2014 and has been in private practice ever since.
